Move In Packet

The lease has been signed and the tenant has the keys to the suite.  What's the next step for the property manager?

Every office has different procedures but one thing every property manager should consider is the move in packet for their tenants. This packet, folder, or binder is a great way to make sure your tenant has key information handy during the move in process.  It is also an opportunity to add value for your tenants and set the stage for them to view you as a kind and caring property management team.

Here is a list of some of the items to consider including in your move in packet:

A warm friendly Welcome Letter

Emergency Contact Numbers

How to report Maintenance Issues

Policies and Procedures

Rent paying instructions

Utility information

Restaurants that delivery locally and their menus (Some restaurants will throw in coupons as well!)

Coupons for cleaning supplies or local office supplies

Information for local cleaning services

Map of the area with landmarks highlighted

Parking Information

What other items do you include in your welcome packet for new tenants?  Add them to the comments!
